We are Going Green, commercial solar panel installation specialists
We install commercial solar panel systems for a range of businesses, including offices, retail parks, warehouses, factories, local authorities, and other commercial buildings.
Our commercial solar panel installations are generally larger than your average home installation and may take a little longer to install, but we never compromise on service. Our dedicated commercial solar PV installers are with you from the moment you get in touch, right through to installation. We’ll assess your site, recommend the best solar panels for your needs, and design a system that matches your energy usage and budget. Whether you need a small solar PV array or a full-scale project, we’ve got you covered.
We work with reliable solar technology from trusted brands, and we install both rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV panels, depending on your site and budget.

How do solar panel systems work for businesses?
Solar panels work for businesses in the same way they do for homes – they absorb sunlight and turn it into electricity. This renewable electricity supply is then used to power lights, machines, and other electrical appliances within your business.
Businesses with high energy demands, like manufacturing, are an excellent fit for commercial solar PV systems. But you can also get decent cost savings in other sectors. When we assess your building and energy needs, we’ll help you understand just how much you could save on your energy bills.
Commercial properties we install solar panels for
We install solar solutions for various businesses to help reduce energy costs and consumption. Ideally, you’ll have a decent roof space to really make the most of your solar investment, but we can also offer ground-mounting systems if your space is a little more complex.
Solar panels for offices
Just think how many computers you have to power in your office. Then there’s lighting, heating, and air conditioning to charge as well. We install solar panels in offices to reduce the impact of harmful fossil fuels and save you money on electricity.
Solar panels for warehouses
If your warehouse consumes a lot of energy due to its size and round-the-clock operation, you may benefit from switching to solar power. We provide a range of solar panel solutions for large warehouses that help keep the electricity costs low and make your business more sustainable.
Solar panels for factories
Factories are a great match for commercial solar PV panels. They are large and often require a lot of electricity to keep machines running. If you want to cut your energy costs, lower your factory’s carbon emissions, and make your warehouse more energy efficient, you could consider installing solar panels.
Data centres
Packed with servers, cooling systems, and backup infrastructure, data centres are one of the most energy-hungry facilities out there. And studies suggest that by 2027, the AI industry could use as much energy as a small country like the Netherlands. We design solar systems that fit your setup and keep your operations powered with renewable energy.

Our solar panel installation process for commercial spaces
At Going Green Renewables, we have a straightforward and transparent approach to our installation process. From the moment you get in touch, one of our commercial solar installers will be available to guide you throughout the journey.
Here’s how we’ll help you find and install the best solar system for your business:
- Assessing your needs – We’ll take a look at your property and energy consumption, and based on that, we’ll recommend the most suitable solar panels and batteries.
- Comprehensive quote – We’ll provide a quote with a breakdown of installation costs and itemised pricing for solar panels, inverter, battery, and labour costs.
- Getting permission – Upon accepting the quote, we will apply for permission from the DNO to connect the system to the electricity network prior to starting your solar installation.
- Time to install – Our solar installations are typically completed within two days for domestic fittings, although this can be longer for commercial buildings with larger systems.
- Over to you – Upon completion, we will hand over the solar installation to you, giving you access to monitoring and an explanation of the components. You’ll also gain access to a modern app to manage the system yourself.
- Finishing up the paperwork – After installation, we will complete all the required paperwork so you can set up export payments with your supplier.
Did you know we also provide commercial solar panel maintenance services? We’ll help you out with expert support and quick repairs to keep your solar array operating as it should and your business up and running. Take a look at our solar panel repair and maintenance services for more information.

Frequently asked questions about commercial solar PV installation
Do you need planning permission to install solar panels on a commercial building?
You can install solar panels under permitted development rights if you follow certain rules. The panels should be no more than 200mm above the roof, and they cannot be installed on listed buildings or World Heritage sites. If your roof is flat, the panels must be less than 600mm above the roof surface (mounting kits are made to meet these requirements).
Will solar panel installation affect my business operations during installation?
We always aim to minimise disruption, and in most cases, your business can continue as usual while we work. Our expert solar panel installers are efficient, tidy, and used to working around commercial settings. There may be some noise and short-term access restrictions, but we’ll always let you know in advance and plan a time that works around your operations.
Will having a solar PV system for my business reduce electricity bills?
That’s one of the benefits of installing commercial solar panels. By generating electricity yourself, you won’t need to rely so much on the National Grid, especially during peak hours when electricity is more expensive, and you can save money. The more energy you use during the day (especially if your business runs 9–5), the more you’ll save.
How many solar panels are needed to power a commercial building?
It all depends on the size of your commercial space and the amount of electricity your business requires. A small office might only need 20-30 panels, while a large factory or warehouse could need several hundred. When we assess your site, we’ll take a look at your average usage and recommend the number of panels required to meet your needs.
Can you work with multiple commercial sites?
Yes, we can. We’re experienced in multi-site solar installations, whether that’s for a couple of locations or a whole network of commercial sites. Our team will help you plan, coordinate, and roll out a consistent, cost-effective solar strategy across your establishments. That includes everything from initial surveys and DNO permissions to final handover and monitoring.
